Margaret Rorick ’53 St. Joseph School of Nursing
Margaret Ann, 90, died Aug. 2 at St. Anne Home. She was born in Fort Wayne on Dec. 2, 1932, the daughter of Richard Paul Rohyans and Viola (Wyss) Rohyans. On Sept. 1, 1956, Margaret married Paul William “Bill” Rorick, who preceded her in death on July 8, 1996, after 39 years of marriage. Margaret was a great wife and mom, and a lifelong caregiver both professionally and personally. She was a retired registered nurse, working at St. Joseph Hospital for over 25 years.
She is survived by her children Roseanne (Daniel) Conroy, Sally Still, Timothy (Deanna) Rorick, Steven (Diane) Rorick, Julie Moore, Kathryn (Gregory) Clayton and Gregory (Michele) Rorick; sister Mary Lou Shovlin; 14 grandchildren and 11 (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Viola Rohyans; her husband Paul W. "Bill" Rorick; son James Rorick; grandson Daniel Conroy; brothers Richard Rohyans and David Rohyans; sister Diana Urick; and sons-in-law Richard Still and David Moore. Access the obituary.
Joseph Foy BA ’69, MS ’74
Joseph died July 18 at the Marion VA Medical Center. Joe was born to Joseph Aloysius Foy and Mary Elsa (Krumholz) Foy in 1925, in Brooklyn, New York. He was baptized at Church of the Sacred Heart, Jersey City, New Jersey. He was raised in Jersey City but lived most of his life in Fort Wayne. His wife of almost 65 years, Loretta Irene (Bidwell) Foy, died in March 2017.
Survivors include son Timothy (Lynn) Foy; daughters Kathleen (Steven) Wolford, Maureen (Gregory Breese) Foy and Eileen (Gordy) Stafford; grandchildren Shawn, Aimee, James, Jennifer, Mitchell, Miles, Adam, Anthony and Cody; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Elizabeth (Boszor) Bidwell; nephews Daniel, Dennis and Dean; and niece Deborah. In addition to his wife Loretta, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Donald Bidwell; his sister-in-law Rutheda (Bidwell) Hibbins; and his nephew David Bidwell. Access the obituary.
John Robert Malkoski, Sr. ’71
John died on Sept. 17 in Ebeid Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born on February 19, 1949 to Leon and Ruth (Dunmore) Malkoski in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He was the third of four children. John graduated from Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne in 1967, and the University of Saint Francis in 1971. John spent 41 years in the insurance industry.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mark. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Jones Schuele); son John Jr. (Diane) of Toledo, Ohio; daughter Julie (Tim) of Bothell, Washington; sister Marjorie (Malkoski) Brown of San Antonio, Texas; brother Paul (Mim) of Aurora, Colorado; stepson Craig (Andrea) Schuele of Toledo, Ohio; grandsons John III (Jack) of Omaha, Nebraska, Ian and William; step-grandchildren Ezekiel of Tempe, Arizona, Michaela, Gabriel, Hannah, Nathanael, Jacob and Leah; the mother of his children, Bobbie Kanney of St. Henry, Ohio; and three nephews. Teresa Ann Weicht ’73 St. Joseph School of Nursing
Teresa Ann Weicht, RN, of Waterloo, died on June 28 at her home with her husband Ralph (Bud) and children Nicholas Weicht and Gretchen Weicht at her side.
Teresa grew up in Osseo, Michigan, and attended Camden Frontier High School. She then attended Huntington College and completed nurses’ training in 1973 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Marie Smith, brother Tim Smith, niece Lisa Taylor, and father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Elaine Weicht. Teresa will be remembered by her brothers Mark and Joe, in-laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Access the obituary.
