Bio

Dr. Monica L. Heller, is an Associate Professor of Psychology and the Director of the Undergraduate Psychology Program at the University of Saint Francis.  Dr. Heller earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at Ball State University and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Adler University. Her areas of expertise include Lifespan Development and Research Methods & Statistical Analyses. As she is passionate about student success in higher education, Dr. Heller conducts research that focuses on identifying social, emotional, and behavioral factors that contribute to and detract from student learning and achievement outcomes. She is most interested in early identification and practical approaches to prevention and intervention that foster academic resilience, persistence, and achievement in students’ pursuit of a post-secondary education. Dr. Heller primarily teaches General Psychology, Human Growth & Development, Research Methods & Statistics, Senior Capstone, and co-facilitates an annual service-learning mission trip to Haiti/Dominican Republic.
