FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis has aligned its new Master of Human Resource Management program with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. This highly practical program will begin in August.
Saint Francis’ alignment with SHRM makes it one of the few programs in Indiana with this distinction.
“One of the most important things a prospective student should look for when pursuing or advancing a career in Human Resources is the SHRM’s seal of approval,” said Director of Business Administration Susan Kirby, the architect of the MHRM program. “The Society for Human Resource Management has developed a thorough list of desired program courses and key concepts, and the University of Saint Francis has worked to align our curriculum with these expectations. Our MHRM courses provide a robust and rigorous program that will grant students the best and most prestigious education in this field.”
Over 500 programs in approximately 425 educational institutions around the world have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. The Human Resources Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines—created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010, 2013 and 2017—are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.
