FORT WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Saint Francis invites the public to a free presentation by Dr. Kari Carr, faculty consultant for the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education.
Carr will present “Ad fontes! A Return to the Sources in a Christ-Centered Education,” at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 in the Saint Francis North Campus Auditorium, 2702 Spring Street.
Carr’s discussion will address what it means for a young person to be formed in the Christian liberal arts tradition. She will discuss historical influences on modern education and how the classical education movement responds dynamically with a “return to the sources.” Attendees will have an opportunity to learn how this tested and true form of education is growing in Fort Wayne and around the country.
After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University and a doctorate from Indiana University, Carr taught at The Oaks Academy, IUPUI, Saint Joan of Arc School and Purdue University Fort Wayne in recent years. She has served as a faculty consultant at the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education since March.
The event is presented by Saint Francis in conjunction with the Chesterton Academy of St. Scholastica.
