USF Camp Offers Glimpse at Healthcare Careers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis is inviting students in grades 7-11 to discover the various careers available in the healthcare field at the 2018 School of Health Sciences Summer Camp. The University of Saint Francis is partnering with the Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC) to offer the camp, which will be held on June 5 and 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. each day.
Students in the camp will participate in hands-on activities that will introduce them to elements of different healthcare professions including nursing, physical therapy, kinesiology, nutrition, social work, surgery, radiology and more. This year, students will also be able to learn about pharmacy, nurse anesthetist, family nurse practitioner and physician assistant roles.
 
The camp will be held in the Doermer Family Center for Health Science Education on the USF campus, 2701 Spring Street. Students going into grades 7-11 in fall 2018 are invited to attend the camp.
