More than 100 St. Joseph School of Nursing alumni reconnected with former classmates and colleagues on Friday, April 26, at the Saint Francis North Campus Gymnasium. Two members from 1953 represented the oldest class there. Attendees enjoyed dinner and visiting with one another.
Earlier in the day, the 50th anniversary class of 1974 was honored with brunch in Brookside and a tour of the beautiful mansion. Twenty-one classmates returned for this special occasion. After lunch and time to reconnect, they were treated to a tour of the new Simulation Lab and Doermer Family Foundation Immersive Laboratory in the Doermer Family Center for Health Science Education. Hosts demonstrated the opportunity the Sim Lab offers to practice patient skills on multiple simulators that act as real patients in hands-on education.
Saint Francis Director of Alumni Relations Tony Didier (BA ’00) said, “The St. Joseph School of Nursing Reunion is one of my favorite alumni events. The classmates are a close-knit group and love reconnecting with one another. They also continue to support their legacy with the St. Joe Endowed Scholarship that is awarded at Saint Francis to descendants of St. Joe alumni. We are very grateful for their generosity that allows students to continue in their journey in the healthcare field.”
