Sr. Anita Holzmer, OSF, who has served the Saint Francis community for the past 18 years, has been assigned to St. Francis Convent, Mishawaka. She will become the spiritual assistant for the Secular Franciscan Immaculate Conception fraternity and the regional spiritual assistant, as well as continuing to support the newly formed Hispanic fraternity and the fraternity in western Ohio. Sr. Anita served Saint Francis as faculty in Theology, associate vice president for Mission Integration and Franciscan core curriculum director.
Sr. Benedicta Duna, OSF, served as assistant director of Campus Ministry for the past four years and has been reassigned to live at the Sister’s Motherhouse in Mishawaka. Beginning in August, she will work in mission in the Sisters’ healthcare apostolate.
Sisters coming to Saint Francis this fall will be:
- Sr. Anna Joseph Nelling, OSF, who entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in 2006 after graduating from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She has a master’s degree in educational leadership from Creighton University and taught and served as an administrator in Catholic schools.
- Sr. Mary Augustine Warrell, OSF, who entered the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Indiana University, a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Theology from Franciscan University in Steubenville. For the past six years, Sister Mary Augustine has served in the Sisters’ healthcare ministry in northern Indiana, Lafayette and Michigan City in mission services and the areas of quality and infection prevention.
