Saint Francis students assembled for the annual Network for Success event on March 21 at the Achatz Hall of Science and John and Toni Murray Research Center. The event, a collaborative effort by the Alumni Association and the Academic and Career Development Center, helped students connect with Saint Francis employees, alumni and local employers to learn from their experience.
Network for Success also allowed students to practice networking skills in a comfortable environment while building relationships. Professional headshots were offered by Vorderman Photography, and attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres while networking.
Ryan Geiger (BA ’10) addressed the guests and shared the importance of building a network of business contacts. Geiger graduated with honors from Saint Francis with a bachelor’s degree in communication, art and graphic design, with concentrations in computer graphics and photography. He is the marketing director of Surack Enterprises and co-founder of LostBoy Design Co. Geiger has utilized his skills in design, marketing and advertising to build his career with a focus on digital media. As a former president of the American Advertising Federation of Fort Wayne, Geiger focused on leadership and commitment to foster creativity and collaboration within the industry and shared how these qualities and networking have contributed to his success.
Saint Francis Director of Alumni Relations Tony Didier (BA ’00) said, “This event brings so many benefits to our students, who gain fresh perspective and insights into what creates success for local professionals.”
