Need a Tutor?

Tutoring is available on a walk-in basis, but priority access is given to students with scheduled appointments. Tutoring is generally on-on-one, but small group tutoring may be available. Students may schedule single tutoring sessions or a standing tutoring appointment, subject to tutor availability.  Tutoring appointments are made through the SASS office, PJPII Room 210 or 260-399-8065.

The tutoring center is open Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.  Tutor availability for specific subjects, as well as the tutoring schedule,  varies by semester.  Times are posted on the bulletin board outside Room 210 and in the appointment books in the tutoring center.  Individual subjects may not have tutors available at all times.  Subject to tutor availability,  we provide help with writing, math, chemistry, physics, and pathophysiology.    Anatomy and Physiology tutoring is available as well and occurs in Achatz Hall Practice Lab.

Tutoring is now available online via Blackboard. Once you log into Blackboard, look for the SmarThinking tab. The SmarThinking schedule can be accessed there. In some cases, online tutors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Notes About Tutoring at USF:

Tutors are peers and not professors; thus, there are limitations to the scope of their assistance in the tutoring center.  If a peer tutor in any subject offers a grade for an assignment, please contact a member of the SASS staff as soon as possible, as this is not appropriate or expected. Writing tutors are not meant to provide a proofreading service. Rather, students seeking writing help should expect to work in partnership with the tutor throughout the writing process to improve and strengthen written work.
