Certification and Registration
Certification and registration for the radiologic technology profession is through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The ARRT is the only national certifying agency recognized by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Medical Association (AMA).
Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national examination offered by the ARRT. Students applying for the certification examination must meet requirements of good moral character. A conviction of a misdemeanor or felony may indicate of lack of good moral character for the ARRT's purposes.
Students who have been convicted should contact the ARRT immediately to determine their application status. Information for pre-application for the examination is available at the ARRT's website. www.arrt.org
Applications will be completed during RAD 278 - Clinical Education V in the spring prior to the program completion date. Applications will be signed providing the student:
- Has met all requirements of the program to date and is on track for graduation.
- Has signed an acknowledgement indicating that all information provided on the application form is accurate and correct.
Copies of signed application forms will be maintained in the student's permanent file. Final completion dates will be submitted on all graduates at the end of the summer session. Those students not completing the program will not have their scores released from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
