Sister Anita Holzmer, OSF
Sister Anita has been a Sister of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration for 40 years and is also an alumna of the University of Saint Francis (BSEd '76 and MSEd '82). Having done post-graduate work in elementary administration and Franciscan Studies, she has been an educator for over 35 years, serving in Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana, and Honduras, Central America. In 2005 she completed a 2-year program in Franciscan Spirituality at the Pontifical University of St. Anthony (the "Antonianum") in Rome. Currently she is pursuing an M.A. in Franciscan Studies from the Franciscan Institute of St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY.
She writes, "It is a joy and a privilege for me to teach at my alma mater and to share with others my love for the Lord and the Church, and the Franciscan way of life."
In addition to her duties as an instructor, Sister Anita is the director of the Center for Franciscan Spirit and Life, which fosters the spirituality and way of life of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi at the University of Saint Francis. The center offers prayer experiences, speakers, discussion groups and more to faculty, staff and students, as well as to the Fort Wayne community and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, so that all can learn about and personally integrate into their lives the Franciscan way of living and serving God, others and all creation.
