USF’s DeVille publishing two books
University of Saint Francis Associate Professor of Theology Dr. Adam DeVille has signed contracts for the publishing of two books.
The first, an edited collection on the future of Eastern Orthodox Christianity in North America, will consist of the proceedings from a conference on that topic at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in March, 2012, when Dr. DeVille presented a paper. The University of Notre Dame Press is reviewing it for publication.
The second book, to be published in late 2014 by Routledge Press, is an edited collection, “Eastern Christian Encounters with Islam.” Dr. DeVille is writing the introduction and conclusion, and serving as editor of 12 essays related to countries such as Syria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Russia, Greece and others by leading specialists from around the world.
“We are proud of the ongoing intellectual quests undertaken by scholars such as Dr. Deville,” said university President Sister M. Elise Kriss, OSF. “Their continual search for truth and enlightenment makes the University of Saint Francis what a Catholic higher education institution should be—a repository for ideas which broadly apply to the betterment of society and the world.”
The University of Saint Francis, founded in 1890 as a comprehensive university in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs through the School of Health Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences, Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership, School of Professional Studies and School of Creative Arts. The university’s College of Adult Learning designs focused curriculum for working adults by offering online and accelerated programs, through its Virtual, Fort Wayne and Crown Point campuses. More than 2,300 students from a broad geographic region attend USF for its academic excellence.
