Mission Statement
The Lee and Jim Vann Library supports the mission of the University of Saint Francis by nurturing lifelong learners who can recognize the need for information, locate, evaluate, and effectively use information.
Vision Statement
The Lee and Jim Vann Library supports the mission of the University of Saint Francis with a strong commitment to the personal and professional development of students, faculty and staff. The library accomplishes this by embracing an attitude of service, by evaluating and providing a variety of authoritative information resources, by effective and appropriate use of technology, by providing library instruction to strengthen research skills and by participating in cooperative activities with other libraries to ensure the effective stewardship of quality library services.
The Lee and Jim Vann Library is located on two floors of the Pope John Paul II Center. It houses a collection of over 68,000 volumes including more than 450 periodical subscriptions in a variety of subject areas. The Vann Library has an expansive collection including, but not limited to:
- reference materials
- medical
- nursing
- allied health
- art
- sciences
- education
- journals
- microform
- newspapers
- videos/DVDs
Other services available in the library include:
- reference and research assistance
- interlibrary loan
- group study rooms
- laptop loans
- equipment loan (cameras, audio recorders)
- course reserve
- faxing
- photocopying
The library maintains regular evening and weekend hours with holiday and other closings posted on the library’s homepage. Students may check library hours by looking at the posting near the library entrance, calling the library, or by checking the library’s web page which will have the most current and detailed information about hours and services.
