POSITION REPORTS TO: Division Director of Humanities and Social Sciences

 

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of First-Year Writing and Division Director for Humanities and Social Sciences, adjunct faculty receive a one-semester appointment in teaching. Faculty members assess, plan, implement and evaluate instruction for students in online and classroom settings in coordination with established course and program objectives. 

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities: 

  • Develops, designs, and implements curriculum in classroom and online settings. 
  • Adheres to all applicable university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogs 
  • Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of First-Year Writing and Division Director for Humanities and Social Sciences

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Education  

  • Master’s Degree in English preferred 

Experience   

  • Experience teaching in higher education preferred
