Music Technology students take courses in music appreciation, history, performance, and musical instrument application. Students are required to study a minimum of two instruments or voice. This format lets students learn guitar or piano, study the history of rock and roll and jazz, and participate in music clubs and bands to build on their music technology theories and applications.
The Jazz Ensemble learns to perform music from all parts of the jazz repertoire. Additional instruction helps to fine tune the jazz musician through regular ensemble rehearsals. Members of the Jazz Ensemble also perform as a quartet for University and community functions.
The Pep Band performs at all home varsity football and basketball games. The Pep Band is open to all students from the University and also fields a full Drum Line.
University Singers is a collegiate choir which performs and rehearses a wide variety of music and styles throughout the year. It enables students to enhance their educational experience in the performing arts. The club is open to all University of Saint Francis students who would like to be involved in the experience and outreach service of music.
A partnership between the Heartland Chamber Chorale and the University Singers has begun. This partnership strengthens both the University Singers and SOCA's music course work and programs.
The Guitar Ensemble allows our many guitarists to perform as a group. The Ensemble performs classical compositions as well as modern rock pieces on both acoustic and electric guitars.
