Distinguished Alumnus -- Terry Growcock (BBA '83)

Born in Kendallville, Indiana in 1945, Terry graduated from Ligonier High School in 1963. After attending Indiana University for two years, he joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 1966, the same year he and Barbara Jo (Jo) Hartman (LHS ’66, USF MBA ’78) were married. Their children, Michelle (1970) and Christopher (1973) are both graduates of the Indiana University School of Business. With Jo’s encouragement, Terry enrolled at USF part-time in 1978 and obtained his BA in 1981. Terry’s business career began with King-Seeley, Universal Nolin, and United Technologies. In 1990 he joined Siebe PLC, and served as executive vice president and general manager with Paragon Electric and Robertshaw, respectively. In 1994 he became president of Manitowoc Foodservice Division and in 1998, chairman/CEO of the Manitowoc Company until his retirement at the end of 2008. Today he enjoys serving on four independent corporate boards, global travel with Jo and friends, golfing, and most of all, spending time with five super grandchildren.
