Honorary Alumna -- Jane Gerardot

Jane attended the University of Saint Francis from 1965 to 1966, before transferring to Indiana University in order to study for a degree in physical therapy. She received a BS degree in physical therapy and an M.S. degree in allied health education, both from IU. Jane worked in physical therapy rehabilitation healthcare and administration for 18 years prior to entering the field of law. She was awarded her law degree from the University of Michigan in 1989 and is a board-certified Indiana trust and estate lawyer*, working primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust and estate administration, and elder law. Currently, Jane serves on the board of directors for the University of Saint Francis and Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, and is active in local and state legal bar associations.

She was invited to serve on the University of Saint Francis Physical Therapy Assistant Advisory Committee by Mary Kay Solon at the inception of the program and continues in this role. Jane’s husband of 20 years is Jeff Leffers, a proud alumnus and supporter of the university. She is the principal in the law firm of Boeglin Troyer & Gerardot, PC, www.thelegacylawfirm.com.
