Kelly Elder, RN

As an eight year old little girl residing in Cedar Lake Indiana, my passion for nursing became evident while helping care for my grandmother who was battling breast cancer. After graduating from Crown Point High School, I made my dream of nursing a reality by enrolling in the Franciscan St. Anthony Health Center Licensed Practical nurse program.  During my educational journey I was in awe and inspired by my nursing instructors. It was during this time my dream of becoming a nursing instructor began.

I knew I had to further my education to make this dream possible. I graduated with my Associates Degree in nursing from the University of Saint Francis and I am currently enrolled in the Masters – Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Saint Francis. I had the pleasure of working in a varity of clinical settings during  my nursing career including: acute care, long term care, outpatient clinics, and adjunct nursing faculty. I  had the honor of caring for patients of all ages pediatric to geriatric.

I currently resides in Cedar Lake, Indiana with my loving and supporting husband Christopher Elder. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters Keirstynn and Katelynn who are the lights of our life. I hope to instill in our daughters that with faith in God, hard work and determination you can make any dream a reality.
